Lloyd H. Kasper, M.D
Lloyd Kasper is a Professor Emeritus of Immunology, Microbiology and Medicine at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College where he has been actively involved in basic and applied immunology research supported by grants from the NIH, Immune Tolerance Network, March of Dimes, NMSS and industry. His basic research interests have been in immunoparasitology and in multiple sclerosis as related to understanding disease pathogenesis, the role of specific regulatory populations elicited by current and novel therapies, and the role of the gut microbiome in the regulation of CNS demyelination. He established and directed the Dartmouth MS Center for over 20 years. He has served as chairperson on NIH and NMSS grant review study sections. He has been the primary organizer for several Keystone Symposia. Dr. Kasper has authored over 175 research and clinical articles related to basic and applied research. When not doing science at Dartmouth, Kasper can be found painting and skiing in Taos, New Mexico. His relationship to Dennis Kasper has been truly lifelong.
